Bunch of Mini Lists of Resources & Roles (Open!)

Hello Reader,

Today it's all about resources and opps because wow, there are lots of resources that came down in the last few weeks.

First, I want to call out the LA County EMI program. It is no-cost training for micro and small business owners in LA County! Please tell your small business friends or those who are thinking of starting a business. The agency I work with, LEEAF, has set up their Entrepreneurial Academy so that solopreneurs and small business owners can take classes that fit their schedule.

We have a new marketing trainer coming in in September, but I'll still be advising during office hours and teaching two new workshops: AI and social media marketing. If you'd like to join me with LEEAF, email me or email hi@leeaf.la directly to enroll. If you'd like to stick with the cohort model, head to lacountyemi.com and enroll! Either way, it's a win-win for all of us to help grow small businesses.

Bits and Pieces

  • Old news but if you wanted the song list from the DNC - here you go. Here's his Spotify.
  • How is this not bigger news? Astronauts are stuck in space til Feb 2025! They couldn't get on the last ship because it was deemed risky. What the hell!?
  • Shein is suing Temu. LOL.
  • 63 email subject lines for your Fall emails.

Looking Ahead

As we go into September, we're going to hit September 11. For the youths, they don't care. For the rest of us, it is still a somber day.

I also want to note is that October 7 marks a year of active war between Palestine and Israel. You should be very aware and reconsider any launches that day.

Special thanks to the Entertainment Community Fund (ECF) for including me in their latest newsletter! If you are or someone you know is in the entertainment industry and needs guidance on emergency funding, resume review, health insurance, or a myriad of other needs, please reach out to them.

On that note, have a great long holiday weekend!

Chris

P.S. Thank you for your testimonials! If you would be so kind, I'd love to you add you to the wall!

Greetings, Reader! One more email for the year! Domains, websites, hosting. I'm finding that even seasoned small business owners consider the following terms a little nebulous. It makes me scratch my head - what is happening in the process of building a website where the user is not starting with basic terms and concepts of how things are connected? So.. you know what I did. Sometimes you need to present a primer... or in my case, analogies. What is the difference between domains, websites,...

Hello Reader, We do a lot of planning for our businesses. One of the modules I teach builds out a mini digital campaign so solopreneurs and small business owners can track their time backwards and be better prepared on the process. But what about personal planning? Professional and personal development? Do you do any planning for yourself? Is it hard for you to think ahead or to keep track of your goals or things you want to focus on? Well, you know what's up. Here's YOUR PLANNER! It's free...

Hello Reader, One of the small business owners I've had the opportunity to meet and teach shared their frustrations with social media marketing and paid ads. They didn't know if what they were doing was effective. In the past, they had hired a social media agency to help with organic social, which didn't pay off. They're doing their own paid ads, which is fine, but still not sure about conversions. This business owner was frustrated and asked for guidance. The first step is to outline your...
